Insurance Bureau of Canada launches “Protecting Your Tomorrow” campaign

Campaign highlights the crucial role of Canada’s P&C insurers

Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is proud to release its newest consumer education campaign, “Protecting Your Tomorrow,” on TV, radio, digital and social media platforms. The campaign underscores the vital role Canada’s P&C insurance industry plays in the lives of Canadians from coast-to-coast, while offering consumers tips to help mitigate risks from severe weather.

"I am immensely proud of this campaign – proud of what it stands for, what it represents to Canadians, and how it embodies everything our industry stands for: protecting Canadians in their time of need, both today and tomorrow,” said Celyeste Power, President and CEO, IBC. “I am honoured to be a part of this industry and to work alongside the 140,000 dedicated people from across our country employed by Canada’s P&C insurers.”

Severe weather losses surpassed $8 billion in 2024, for the first time ever, and disrupted the lives and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Canadians. Canadians contended with flooding in the Greater Toronto Area, a wildfire in Jasper, a hailstorm in Calgary, the remnants of Hurricane Debby in Quebec and a handful of smaller events. Canada’s home, auto and business insurers were and remain there for Canadians, helping their customers repair and rebuild after severe weather hits.

Insurers not only help customers recover after a disaster but also assist them in proactively protecting themselves and their property from severe weather. The “Protecting Your Tomorrow” campaign highlights this critical role and offers a series of videos and tips to help Canadians protect their most-valuable assets. Additionally, the campaign site highlights how the industry is advocating for solutions to mitigate the risks of severe weather and outlines what governments can do to help build a more resilient Canada.

“Amid the uncertainty of cross-border relations and the growing risks of severe weather, this is an important time for us all to reflect on what our industry means to Canadians and, equally, what Canadians mean to us,” added Power. “Canada’s P&C insurance industry is strong and stable and will always be there for Canadians.”
